Saying Goodbye

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same." ~Flavia Weedn

Last weekend, I said goodbye to two dear friends, who happen to be one of the greatest couples that I’ve ever met. While we don’t get together all that often, there is still that idea that they will be moving away.

In moments of goodbye, it is those final moments together that often carry such weight. We often do not get the luxury of that final goodbye. As unsettling as that can often be, we must, somehow, find a way to let our hearts be at peace. To experience closure when none may exist.

To my dear friends:

"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand."
~Irish Blessing
