It’s Valentine’s Day and LOVE is in the air!
Tonight, many of you who are in relationships will be dining with your dates, talking with your trueloves, and sharing smooches with your sweethearts. For the singletons, you might want to party with your peeps, fiesta with your friends, or even go to bed with a beautiful book.
Valentine’s Day isn’t always about professing your undying love to your main squeeze. Sometimes, it’s about acting like a goofball and pouring your heart and soul out to your favorite beverage, like I’ve done here!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Love is in the air and I’d like to share my Funny Valentine with YOU!
Here’s my poem titled An Addicting Love. Enjoy!
My dad is one of my best friends. I can always come to him when I need advice, to hear a compassionate point of view, or just a friend to talk to. That’s why I’m especially excited to announce that my story Crazy Curtains was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks Dad: 101 Stories of Gratitude, Love, and Good Times. In the telling of this story, I’m able to express to my dad my gratitude for his unwavering love and support. So, I’ll just go ahead and say it again: Thanks Dad!!
I can’t believe it’s been one whole month since I’ve written a blog post! Where has the time gone? I’ve been quite a busy little bee…writing, working, mommying, making lots and lots of plans. Thank you for stopping by to visit. I will be back soon, but for now, I’ve got to buzz along.
To My Dearest Blog:
During this time when we have been apart,
You have never been far from my heart.
Please do not think I’m angry with you.
I would be sad to know I made you feel blue.
Oh, I’ve been quite a busy little bee.
Writing and writing — One day you’ll see
That all of my motives and intentions are true.
I write so I can have a relationship with you.
Even though you always make me smile
I may have to be gone for just a little while.
Please don’t spend these days in a sad, dreary fog.
Just know that I’ll come back to you, my dearest blog.
The flowers are still fresh, the chocolate hasn’t yet been eaten, the sweet card is still on the table. Yes, I am a little late for Valentine’s Day, but the holiday still lingers. Here’s a poem that I wrote. My Funny Valentine for YOU! I hope it makes you laugh. Enjoy!
I’ve been looking for poems that inspire me. I have to tell you I’m not usually into the old classic poems. I generally don’t really understand them. I like the more contemporary, plain-Jane, say-it-like-you-mean-it, give-me-something-I-can-work-with kind of a poem. However, my friend, Kelley, told me about the classic poem If by Rudyard Kipling. It’s one of her favorites, and now it’s one of mine, too. Here it is, read by tennis players Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, who are currently ranked number 1 and 2 in the world. These guys sure put a great, contemporary spin on a poem that was written in 1895. Enjoy!
My husband travels quite a bit, and when I miss him, I sometimes write him silly poems. It’s who I am. It’s what I do. Here you go, honey. I hope this makes you smile.
I love my husband.
And he loves me.
I’m so glad he’s my sweetheart.
I’m as lucky as lucky can be.
I am so proud to say
I’m his precious darling wife.
And I want him to know
He’s the love of my life.
If he ever feels lonely,
I hope he comes to me.
So I can tell him I love him.
Something that rhymes with me.
